Rwandan coffee is a bourbon variety of the Arabica species and grows in fertile volcanic soils in high hills. The region with many wetlands offers an ideal environment for Arabica coffees to grow. Coffee farms, located on mountain slopes at an average range of 1700 - 2100 meters above sea level, generally produce their coffee using sustainable organic methods. In general, Rwandan coffee has fruity, floral scents and citrus flavors, and a softer drink compared to other coffees grown in East African countries.
